Jason started his martial arts studies with Filipino/Indonesian styles known as Kali/Eskrima/Arnis and Pentjak Silat in 1992 under Mahaguro Nate Defensor in Chicago. He continues training The Defensor Method and has been teaching this system since 1992. He achieved the highest instructor rank of White Shirt Guro -“Mataas Na” Guro in 2008. There are many systems in this style including, Serrada Eskrima, Kadena De Mano Eskrima, Pekiti Tersha Kali, Villabrille Kali, Panatukan (Filipino Boxing), Sikaran (Filipino Kicking), Western Boxing and Muay Thai.

Mr. Brigham expanded his training and knowledge to Chinese Internal Arts in 1995 studying in Chicago under Sifu Khalid Hakim. In 2012 he earned the rank of Sifu 9th Degree Black Sash in Chinese Internal Arts under Sifu Hakim. The complete systems under Sifu Khalid includes Baguazhang, Tai Chi Chuan, Hsing I Chuan, Fut Sao Wing Chun and Taoist Chi Kung. Jason practices all these styles through his own continued training and class instruction.

Jason also studied Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan under Sifu Robert Walker and received the rank of Full Instructor (Sifu) in 2010.

Jason has been instructing in the Chicagoland area since 1995 and also taught internationally in Mexico from 2003-2014, conducting seminars throughout Mexico including Mexico City, Ixtlahuaca Mexico, Curnavaca Mexico, Temixo Mexico and other surrounding communities.
